General Summary:

The Multimedia Power team has an exciting opportunity to work hands-on in best-in-class technologies of Camera, Video encoding/decoding, and Computer Vision. These technologies are the heart of billions of Snapdragon devices across the globe.

The team is responsible for power architecture, IP budgets, estimation and optimization of all multimedia use cases. We are looking for a Senior or Staff level Engineer with experience in low power HW design and expertise in Industry standard Power estimation and optimization tools. Your work will have the potential to shape the most power efficient devices in the hands of millions of Snapdragon users.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Hands on work in Industry standard Power estimation and optimization tools such as Synposys PrimeTime PtPx, Ansys Power Artist, etc.
• You will be supporting a 10+ member team, diagnosing Power Tool related technical issues
• You will be working with Vendor RnD teams closely for tool debugs and enhancements
• Additional responsibilities include evaluation of new power tools, providing recommendations on the feasibility of adopting new tools or power related flows and driving the effort for their deployment.
• Providing required support for multimedia cores power optimization and average/peak power estimation throughout the design cycle from pre RTL to post Silicon.
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question
• The environment is fast-paced and requires daily cross-functional interaction. So good communication, planning and execution skills are a must

• Key Qualifications:
  • BSEE or MSEE with 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Good understanding of state of the art Industry standard Power estimation tools such as Synposys PrimeTime / Ansys Power Artist

  • Good understanding of Synthesis and static timing analysis, physical design flow
  • Good understanding of low power design techniques for power reduction, setting power target for HW cores, pre-Si power estimating, and post-Si power measurements
  • Familiarity of SoC architectures and system-level design practices
  • Familiarity with HW verification and synthesis tools is a plus
  • Familiarity with Multi-media IPs (Camera/Video codecs/Computer Vision) is a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$142,200.00 - $213,200.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
