Responsibilities

• Evaluate loans for eligibility under loss mitigation options based on investor, regulatory, and internal guidelines.
• Review borrower loss mitigation packages, identify deficiencies, and issue notices.
• Prepare and issue approval and adverse action notices in compliance with applicable laws and investor requirements.
• Ensure adherence to Fair Lending practices and regulatory standards throughout underwriting.
• Collaborate with Mortgage Specialists to gather documentation and resolve issues efficiently.
• Stay informed on evolving industry programs and investor requirements, including HAMP, GSE, and insurer guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records in internal systems and investor approval workflows.
• Perform escrow analyses and pro forma calculations for loan modifications.
• Monitor underwriting metrics and contribute to monthly workout-to-portfolio ratio goals.
• Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior underwriters.
• Support management in identifying process improvements and implementing best practices.
• Note: This is an in-office position and is not eligible for remote work.
