Job description

About the company

At the company, we’re united by a mission that matters: to radically reduce the cost and complexity of borrowing for all Americans. Every day, we bring creativity, experimentation, and advanced AI to reshape access to credit, helping millions move forward financially with clarity and confidence.

As the leading AI lending marketplace, we partner with banks and credit unions to expand access to affordable credit through technology that’s both radically intelligent and deeply human. Our platform runs over one million predictions per borrower using more than 3,000 signals, powering smarter, fairer decisions for millions of customers. But the numbers only hint at the impact. Every idea, every voice, and every contribution moves us closer to a world where credit never stands between people and their financial progress.

We’re proudly digital-first, giving most Upstarters the flexibility to do their best work from wherever they thrive, alongside teammates across 80+ cities in the US and Canada. Digital-first doesn’t mean distant. We’re intentional about in-person connection through team onsites, planning sessions, and moments that spark creativity and trust. And whether you choose to work primarily from home or collaborate in-person from one of our offices in Columbus, Austin, the Bay Area, or New York City (opening Summer 2026), you’ll have the support to work in the way that works best for you.

If you’re energized by tackling meaningful problems, excited to innovate with purpose, and motivated by work that truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.

The Team:

the company's Loan Processing team helps borrowers move through the lending process accurately, efficiently, and with confidence. The team reviews loan applications, validates documentation, and partners across Operations, Quality, and Training to ensure every file is processed with quality, accuracy, and compliance at the forefront.

As a Senior Loan Processor, you'll independently manage a pipeline of loan applications from processing through closing coordination and post-close documentation with limited day-to-day guidance. You'll apply sound judgment to resolve more complex processing scenarios while balancing quality and timeliness, and following established policies. As you build experience, you'll take on increasingly complex loan files and contribute ideas that improve day-to-day team workflows.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Manage a pipeline of loan applications, moving files through processing, closing coordination, and post-close documentation while meeting quality and turnaround expectations.
  • Review borrower documentation, identify missing or inconsistent information, and resolve processing issues by applying established policies and sound judgment.
  • Independently manage more complex loan files, escalating risks or exceptions appropriately to help ensure a high-quality borrower experience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve day-to-day workflows and contribute ideas that increase team efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in loan processing, loan origination, or a comparable role supporting consumer lending at a financial institution or mortgage company.
  • Experience reviewing financial documentation and processing loan applications while meeting established quality and productivity standards.
  • Experience communicating with customers to obtain documentation, resolve questions, or provide application updates by phone and in writing.
  • Experience consistently meeting quality, productivity, or service level expectations in a high-volume operations environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of consumer lending operations, loan documentation, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience identifying opportunities to improve day-to-day operational processes or workflows.
  • Ability to support teammates by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Experience using AI-enabled productivity or knowledge management tools to improve efficiency while applying appropriate human judgment.
