Job summary

Sunshine Villa, A Merrill Gardens Community in California is seeking a licensed nurse for the evening shift (3pm–11pm) to support residents on their wellness journey. As part of a fifth-generation family business, Merrill Gardens emphasizes dignity and individual care.

You will mentor caregiving staff, provide medication services, and maintain a calm, warm environment. Candidates must hold an LPN/LVN or RN license and have at least one year of nursing experience, preferably in geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Current LPN/LVN or RN license in the community’s state.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience, preferably in geriatric care.

Responsibilities

• Providing a high level of customer service to residents and team members in accordance with MG CARES.
• Mentoring caregiving team members in resident services.
• Providing medication services as allowed by state regulations.
• Maintaining confidentiality and a warm, respectful environment.

Our Nurses are responsible for:

• Providing a high level of customer service to residents and team members by achieving the standards outlined in the MG CARES program.
• Supporting and promoting the philosophy, goals, objectives, and programs of the community and Merrill Gardens.
• Mentoring caregiving team members in areas of resident services.
• Maintaining an attitude of respect and confidentiality at all times toward residents, team members, and visitors.
• Creating and maintaining a calm environment and an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the community.
• Providing management reports as requested.
• Attending and providing in-service training as directed.
• Working within the parameters established by Merrill Gardens for resident care, as described in the policy and procedures of the community and by state regulations.
• Providing medication services to residents as allowed by state regulations and outlined in each resident’s service plan.
• Evaluating residents’ needs and abilities as outlined in each resident’s service plan.
• Documenting the results of services provided and evaluations of the residents’ needs and abilities per state requirements and community procedures.
• Communicating with families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as directed and appropriate.
• Providing direct care to residents according to their identified service needs within Merrill Gardens’ policies and state requirements.
• Being available by phone at all times while on duty.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

If you are someone with:

• A current LPN/LVN or RN license in the community’s state.
• A minimum of one year of nursing experience (preferably in geriatric care).

Actual pay rate within the stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement are required throughout the workday.
