Job summary

The Doliver of Tanglewood is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant to perform routine upkeep, repairs, and on-site support for a senior living community. You will handle tasks from painting and minor electrical to general maintenance and on-call emergency support, ensuring safe and comfortable living spaces for residents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of related maintenance experience.
• Experience with painting, drywall, and general unit make-ready tasks.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Experience using hand and electric tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and dexterity.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned maintenance work orders and prepare vacant resident rooms as directed by the Supervisor.
• Coordinate and assist with special projects as directed.
• Monitor work performed by outside contractors to ensure it meets company standards.
• Available for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, and ensuring all areas are tidy and functional.
• Install appliances and equipment as needed.
• Maintain the garden/yard, including mowing lawns and collecting trash.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems like ventilation.
• Check safety systems such as fire alarms.
• Work with others during renovations to meet standards.
• Report safety or maintenance issues to leadership.
• Ensure safety standards meet guidelines.
