Job summary

Mercy Retirement & Care Center in Oakland, CA is seeking a Lifestyle Enrichment Director to design and coordinate activity programs that address physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of residents. You will manage calendars, interview new residents, and lead wellness initiatives.

Role requires 5–7 years in the field, leadership experience in senior living, and a Certified Activity Director or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five to Seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years of leadership experience, preferably in Senior Living/Assisted Living.
• Certified Activity Director (or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire).
• Proficiency in MS Office suite of products.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external constituents.
• Experience creating bulletins, event calendars, and presentations.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Completion of a background check; drug test, fingerprint, physical, and TB test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Designs and coordinates meaningful activity programming tailored to residents' physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs.
• Maintains a monthly activity calendar with diverse, age-appropriate activities including outings and wellness initiatives.
• Interviews new residents to assess interests and integrate findings into personalized programs.
• Plans, schedules, and conducts lifestyle programs providing physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities.
• Manages community events from setup to breakdown and coordinates staff involvement.
• Facilitates educational sessions for staff on integrating therapeutic activities into daily care.
