Job summary

Nevada HAND in Las Vegas is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to perform a wide range of kitchen and dining room duties, ensuring nutritious meals and high resident satisfaction in alignment with our mission.

This full-time role requires adherence to sanitation standards, teamwork with kitchen and care staff, clear communication with residents and families, and a commitment to safety and quality in every service shift.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older and have a High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid Food Handler Safety Training Card (Health Card) from the Southern Nevada Health District.
• Must have a current and valid CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain within the first 30 days of employment.
• Must be able to obtain a Sheriff’s Work Card.

Responsibilities

• Make salads, sandwiches, special salads, and menu substitutions.
• Prepare raw food, vegetables, meats, starches, and desserts.
• Stock pantry and dry storage areas.
• Ensure all food is prepared, distributed, and stored under sanitary conditions.
• Use dishwashing machine and monitor water temperature, soap, and disinfectant levels.
• Wash and sanitize all food carts, garbage cans and lids.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen equipment and surfaces.
• Take menu orders, wait on tables, serve beverages, and set up tables.
• Attend scheduled in-service training on safe food handling, meal presentation, storage, and special diets.
• Support/assist other departments to ensure highest level of resident satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Wear clean and wrinkle-free uniform; adhere to internal policies and safety practices.
