Job summary

Carmel Hills Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated kitchen aide to support meal preparation, service and sanitation in the dining areas for residents.

The role involves assisting cooks, following production sheets, preparing nourishments, desserts and beverages, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen per center procedures. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 1 year in a large-scale cooking operation is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year’s work in a large-scale cooking operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the supervisor.
• Assists cooks as directed by the supervisor.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entre foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
• Completes pre-preparation as needed including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits for use; slices meat and measures portions for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Follows the cleaning schedule; cleans equipment and work area after use; sweeps and mops kitchen floors; takes trash to dumpster; washes pots and pans.
• Assumes responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
• Washes dishes and silverware; puts away clean dishes and silverware; assists with cleaning of equipment and kitchen as assigned.
• Other duties may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
