Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a Dietary Aide to support dining services in skilled nursing and memory care settings. The role involves serving meals, maintaining sanitation, and assisting with room setup and cleanup to ensure meals are served safely and promptly.

The position requires attention to dietary restrictions, sanitation, and proper handling of food. The role emphasizes following infection control and HACCP procedures, and eligibility for food safety certification and Hepatitis A

Qualifications

• One year of dietary aide experience preferred.
• Basic cooking skills and willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Must be patient and tolerant with staff, residents, and family members.
• Must have or be willing to receive a recognized food safety handling certification in accordance with local or county regulations.
• Must have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St. Louis County (in accordance with County health regulations).

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with making appropriate food and beverage choices while ensuring options offered meet dietary restrictions/orders.
• Performs defined work routines using dining service utensils, supplies, and equipment.
• Assists with dining service setup, including preparing meals and beverages; ensures proper temperatures and on-time service.
• Prepares dining rooms for next meal service; sets tables, refills condiments, and handles service items.
• Keeps dining areas clean; assists with cleaning duties and waste management.
• Follows safety procedures and reports hazards, equipment issues, and incidents.
• Maintains HACCP logs and records product usage and waste.
• Follows infection control procedures and proper PPE usage.
