Job summary

Columbia Place Assisted Living & Memory Care in Portland, OR, is seeking an experienced Cook to join our dietary team. You will prepare nutritious, well-presented meals for residents in assisted living and memory care, following menus and portion guidelines.

The role involves handling special diets, maintaining safe food temperatures, keeping the kitchen clean, and assisting with meal service while coordinating with the Dietary Manager to ensure residents receive meals on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year cooking experience, preferably in assisted living or healthcare.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and portion guidelines.
• Oregon Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one before handling food; ServSafe as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for residents in assisted living and memory care.
• Follow established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Prepare meals for residents with special dietary needs, including modified textures.
• Ensure meals are appealing, properly prepared, and served at correct temperatures.
• Monitor and document food temperatures and follow safe handling practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Assist with meal service and coordinate with dietary aides to ensure timely service.
