Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook to enrich the lives of our residents at our Norman, OK community. You will prepare a variety of hot and cold items, follow standardized recipes, and contribute to a warm, home-like dining experience.

Your day-to-day includes maintaining a clean, safe kitchen, tasting and ensuring food quality, and collaborating with a culinary team to deliver exceptional meals. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior living or similar environment preferred.
• Knowledge of production methods, portion control, and food safety/handling.
• Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail in presentation and plating.
• Weekend availability as part of the regular schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items across grill, sauté, salad bar, and service line.
• Follow standardized recipes for proper prep, portioning, taste, and presentation.
• Taste and check food quality and adherence to culinary standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all prep and service areas.
• Ensure safe, sanitary kitchen per guidelines; manage temps and storage.
• Collaborate with team to create an exceptional dining experience for residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
