Job summary

Jennings in Garfield Heights, OH, is seeking a Cook, Assistant Living to support dining services in our senior care environment. This full-time role runs 6:00am–3:00pm, five days per week, including alternating weekends and holidays.

The cook will handle and prepare meals, follow menus and therapeutic diets, observe safety and infection control procedures, and work cooperatively with staff. Competitive benefits and scheduling options are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook in health care desirable.
• Completion of a food service sanitation course or in-services desirable.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Handle and prepare food.
• Prepare food, palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Follow written menus and recipes.
• Understand therapeutic diets.
• Prepare items in accordance with therapeutic diets.
• Maintain records for substitutes and temperatures.
• Relate to residents, families and staff in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Attend in-service training programs for Dining Services staff.
• Observe infection control procedures.
