Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is hiring a Cook to prepare food for residents, guests, and staff according to menus and recipes. You will ensure proper plating, portioning, and presentation while maintaining sanitation and safety in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of line cook experience and strong communication skills. This full-time role involves standing for long periods and collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality meals.

Qualifications

• Three years minimum line cook experience and/or training.
• High School diploma or equivalent or technical school.
• Good communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees.
• Prepare food according to the planned menu using standard recipes.
• Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
• Assist other kitchen staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared.
• Communicate shortages or outages to supervisor.
• Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served.
• Stock and clean station for next shift.
• Follow proper food rotation policies.
• Maintain a positive attitude to support a team environment.
• Promote positive relations with residents, family members, and guests.
• Respect resident rights and maintain privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe environment.
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and security practices in the kitchen.
• Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas for cleanliness and function.
• Present professional appearance by wearing uniform and name tag.
