Job summary

The Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania is seeking a Senior Living Cook for a full-time daytime role. You will contribute to our Mission of Love by delivering high-quality dining services to residents in a safe, clean environment.

Requirements include two years of related experience and an associate degree or certificate in culinary arts preferred. You will work in a team that values safety, quality, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience required.
• Associates degree or certificate in culinary arts preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in place of degree or certificate where applicable.
• Ability to read, understand and follow standardized recipes, production sheets, and therapeutic and mechanically altered diets required.
• Experience preparing a wide variety of foods, including soups, sauces, and gravies preferred.
• Good written, oral, organizational, and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides an enjoyable dining experience for residents while maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
• Ensures safe handling, preparation, storage, and service of foods; monitors temperatures and reports out of range readings.
• Oversees preparation and cooking of all food items to high quality standards; takes corrective actions for flavor or temperature issues.
• Operates dining equipment safely; performs routine cleaning and maintenance as trained.
• Produces forecasted amounts using Production Worksheets and documents leftovers to assist with ordering.
• Supervises Food Services staff in the absence of Dietary Management.
