Job summary

Northbridge Communities in Brunswick, ME seeks an Activity Assistant to support our Engagement Director in delivering engaging activities that support residents' physical, mental, and social well-being. This full-time role operates 8:30 am–5:00 pm, includes every other weekend, and offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

A valid driver's license with a clean record is required, and we provide comprehensive benefits including health insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or expected.
• Some coursework in recreation or gerontology is a plus.
• Strong interest in engaging with seniors and building connections.
• Creative planning and ability to lead diverse activities.
• Attention to details and reliable documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run activities with the Engagement Director, including exercise programs, arts, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Connect with residents to understand interests and ensure activities are engaging and meaningful.
• Assist with planning trips outside the community and ensure residents are safe and happy.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents can form friendships and explore new interests.
• Maintain records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share fresh ideas to keep programs exciting and aligned with seniors’ preferences.
