Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY is seeking an Activities Specialist to organize general group activities and manage supplies for recreation. Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma is required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in social or recreational programs for aging population within past 5 years.
• Licensure/Certification: Completion of Activity Directors course or Licensed Recreational Therapy Assistant preferred.
• Special Training/Abilities: Teamwork, operate within scope of authority, meet CMS competencies before independent work.
• Working knowledge: Plan, organize, deliver engaging activities; document attendance and participation; support basic treatment interventions.
• Immunizations: Up-to-date immunizations before direct participant contact.
• Ages of Patients Rendered Care: Adult & Geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead general group recreation activities not tied to treatment plans.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, crafts, and games for activities.
• Interview participants about interests and hobbies; LRT designs team-approved treatment plans.
• Perform cleaning tasks to aid infection control.
• Discuss participant responses with LRT and interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate volunteers at the center and assist staff as needed.
• Communicate changes in participant condition to the team.
• Support participants' communication needs and assist in activities.
• Participate in teaching/learning with others.
• Follow PACE of the Triad policies and attend staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
