Job summary

Avir Health Group in Schertz, TX is seeking a Certified Activities Director to coordinate the facility's activity program, addressing residents' needs and interests while enriching their leisure time. You will work with staff to create a home-like atmosphere and supervise paid staff and volunteers to deliver engaging programs.

Qualifications

• Activity Director Certification Required
• Previous nursing home experience preferred
• Previous supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and promote recreation programs including music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural arts, nature study, social recreation and physically and mentally stimulation exercises.
• Keep abreast of current events within the community and utilize available resources.
• Organize and maintain both daily and monthly schedule of activities. Inform and assist residents regarding activities.
• Develop resident’s council/grievance committee to encourage the residents’ involvement and provides means for ensuring the rights of residents.
• Supervise volunteer support.
