Job summary

Westminster Communities of Florida in Saint Augustine is seeking a full-time Assisted Living Activities Assistant to plan, develop and direct activities for residents in the Assisted Living Department. The role supports a high quality of life by organizing programs in line with regulatory guidelines and our policies.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and 1–2 years’ experience in senior activity programs; familiarity with dementia is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma is required.
• Experience in recreational activity programs for seniors is preferred.
• Familiarity with dementia or willingness to learn about it is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily activities in a courteous, compassionate and enthusiastic manner.
• Implement age-appropriate activities considering residents’ abilities and dignity.
• Spend time with residents to promote well-being and security.
• Prepare monthly activity materials; distribute calendars and notices.
• Update and maintain the Residents Likes & Dislikes file for planning.
• Fill in Daily Activity Boards on each floor with dates and times.
• Maintain attendance records and note behavioral or physical issues affecting participation.
• Submit documentation to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Assist the supervisor with purchasing needs for activities.
• Promote activities and encourage resident participation.
