Job summary

The Bristal at Englewood is seeking a creative Lifestyle Coordinator to help present and coordinate recreational programs for assisted living residents and Reflections Memory Care. You will assist residents in pursuing interests and developing new ones, planning trips to art galleries, theaters, and cultural events, and preparing calendars and memos.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of senior-care experience and strong interpersonal skills, with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• One year’s prior experience working with a senior population, and those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia a plus.
• At least 6 months of Recreation activity experience (art therapy, music therapy) or event leadership experience.
• Outgoing, warm and have a genuine caring personality.
• Able to create programs that get residents involved and excited.
• Dependable and able to supervise activities and safe excursions.
• Creative talents in areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc.
• Maintain professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to lead classes and speak in front of groups; strong listening skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Present and coordinate recreational programs for assisted living residents and Reflections memory care.
• Plan fun and safe trips to art galleries, theaters, venues, and cultural events.
• Prepare, print, and distribute monthly calendars, newsletters, and memos.
• Assist in the absence of the Director of Recreation and tailor activities to resident backgrounds.
• Encourage resident engagement using knowledge of hobbies and languages.
