Job summary

VTG is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support mission-critical IT systems with a strong Linux background. You will manage Linux/UNIX and Windows servers, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide Tier 1–2 support in challenging environments.

You should have 10+ years of systems administration experience, solid Linux troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with SSH, SSH tunneling, and port forwarding. Experience with Kubernetes and network devices is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field or equivalent experience with 10+ years in systems administration.
• 10+ years of Systems Administrator experience.
• Strong Linux/UNIX system administration and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with SSH, SSH tunneling, and port forwarding.
• Experience supporting systems in high-latency or air-gapped environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise IT systems and infrastructure.
• Manage Linux/UNIX and Windows server configurations and operations.
• Troubleshoot Linux systems, analyze logs, restart services, resolve performance issues.
• Provide Tier 1–2 support and escalate as needed.
• Support Kubernetes environments and network devices (firewalls/routers/switches).
• Communicate status and resolutions to management and customers.
