Job summary

ASM Research seeks a Linux Systems Engineer to administer and optimize enterprise Linux environments, build CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Ansible Core, and collaborate with security teams on compliant deployments. You will automate administration and patching, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to tooling across production and non-production systems.

Required are strong scripting skills (Python, shell), experience with REST APIs, and familiarity with OCI environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of enterprise Linux experience with patching and tuning.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Ansible Core, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong scripting in Python and shell (bash/zsh).
• Familiarity with REST APIs and secure environments.
• Experience in OCI environments and container orchestration a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise Linux environments.
• Perform Linux logging, auditing, patching, and performance tuning across production and non-production systems.
• Develop automation solutions – including scripting – for Linux administration using Jenkins and Ansible Core.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Linux issues manually.
• Build and set up development tools and infrastructure with CI/CD, cloud tech, containers, and security.
• Modify existing software/scripts to meet new infrastructure requirements and improve performance.
• Analyze user needs and technical requirements within time/cost constraints.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, and security teams to define interfaces and performance requirements.
• Build and test end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to ensure safety against security threats.
• Provide accurate work effort estimates and deliver as committed.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
