Job summary

ManTech seeks a motivated Linux System Administrator to join our Laurel, MD team, delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a national defense mission. You will support the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) as the backbone of IT for MPO, focusing on Linux environments and modern automation tools.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, system optimization, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise IT assets with a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance, and extensive hands-on Linux

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; additional 5 years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
  • 20+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in programs/contracts of similar scope.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and manage Linux operating systems; install, load, troubleshoot, and optimize systems.
  • Provide support for IT system implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Manage IT infrastructure and day-to-day operations across client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Support dispatch systems and hardware problem resolution.
  • Analyze system capacity, optimize operations, and plan resource utilization.
  • Resolve complex problems related to servers, applications, and software integration.

ManTechseeksa motivated, career and customer-orientedLinuxSystem Administratorto join our team inLaurel,MD.

You will be part of a dedicated team delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce that supports a wide range of national defense missions. This role directly supports the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization—the foundation of all Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) for MPO.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Configure and manage Linux operating systems. Installs/loads operating system software, troubleshootsmaintainsintegrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations,monitoringand problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and will remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Optimizesystem operations and resourceutilizationand perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware,applicationsand software integration.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university; an additional 5 years of related experience might be substituted for a degree.
  • 20+ years of experience as a System Administrator or related experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Proficient with troubleshooting in a Linux Red Hat environment.
  • Experience with VMWare
  • Demonstrated experience with modern automation/configuration tools such as Splunk or Ansible
  • IAT I certification (DoD 8140requiredwithin 60 days of starting employment.Acceptable certifications include A+ CE/CCNA-Security/CND/Network+ CE /CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience/familiarization with full lifecycle management of Linux systems, to include provisioning, configurationmanagementand patching.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administration Certification.
  • Experience withNetAPP
Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current/active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to collaborate with other leaders/teams, use standard office automation equipment, and virtual communication.
