Job summary

Information Management Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to join the Schenectady, NY team on‑site. You will oversee RedHat Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and Cloudera environments, ensure stability, security, and performance, and adhere to NIST RMF guidelines.

You will implement security controls, monitor systems, manage updates, and develop DR plans, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

• DOD Top Secret or DOE Q clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with RedHat Linux, VMware, and OpenShift.
• 2+ years of experience supporting security authorization packages per RMF (NIST 800-37/53/53a).
• Experience implementing DISA STIGs for RHEL or similar Linux.
• Strong understanding of NIST 800-53 compliance and system security principles.
• Scripting/automation experience (Bash, Python).
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize RedHat Linux systems, OpenShift, VMware, and Cloudera platforms.
• Implement and enforce security to meet NIST 800-53 standards.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance.
• Manage updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure integrity.
• Develop and enforce backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Support system configurations, user management, and access control.
• Document configurations, procedures and updates.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate services.
