Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a Linux and OpenShift Patch Management Engineer to lead patching and vulnerability remediation across enterprise environments in Jersey City, NJ.

You will manage the patch lifecycle, automate deployments, and ensure security and compliance with stakeholders. Responsibilities include patch assessment, testing, deployment, health checks, change management, and governance while maintaining system stability.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Linux administration experience (RHEL, Rocky Linux, CentOS, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu).
• Strong OpenShift administration and platform support experience.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise patch management and automation tools (Ansible, Satellite, SCCM, Tanium, BigFix or equivalent).
• Strong shell scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Deep knowledge of Linux security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of ITIL Change, Incident, Problem, and Release Management processes.
• Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead patch management lifecycle for Linux servers and OpenShift clusters, including assessment, testing, deployment, and compliance reporting.
• Coordinate patch deployments, health checks, troubleshooting, rollback, and remediation tracking.
• Manage OpenShift patching across clusters and ensure compatibility with configurations and maintenance windows.
• Drive Change & Service Management planning, approvals, and governance with cross-functional teams.
• Produce patch governance reports and dashboards, track SLA compliance and remediation status.
