Job summary

AMD is seeking a senior Linux Kernel Developer to join the Linux Kernel and Virtualization team in Austin and other U.S. sites. You will implement features for ACPI, PCIe, RAS, and related subsystems while engaging with upstream communities and partner teams.

You will contribute across the full software lifecycle, review code, and drive collaboration with partners and the open-source community. This role is hybrid and located in Austin, TX, with visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

  • Extensive expertise in x86 computing architecture.
  • Experience across the entire software development lifecycle.
  • In-depth knowledge of kernels, virtualization, and security.
  • Advanced Linux Kernel debugging across subsystems, virtualization.
  • Upstream development workflow and patch submissions.
  • Advanced programming in C for OS/kernel development.

Responsibilities

  • Drive features for our Linux kernel and related subsystems with internal/external partners.
  • Review code, build unit tests, and write detailed documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external software partners.
