Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking a Senior Legal Process Engineer to join the Practice Engineering team. You will translate legal process insight into strategic product direction across the entire lifecycle, collaborating with practitioners, knowledge management, software engineers, and UX designers.

Gain exposure to document automation, AI, and data integrations while shaping next-generation digital tools for the firm’s clients and internal workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in legal process design or related roles.
• Strong understanding of legal practice workflows and practitioners.
• Experience leading discovery and mapping of processes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Lean and working with PMs, UX, and engineers.
• Proficient in workflow visualization and storytelling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead workflow discovery with practice groups and Knowledge Management attorneys.
• Map data flows and document ownership across domains.
• Reimagine legal workflows for digitization, automation, AI integration.
• Translate insights into early-stage concepts and roadmaps.
• Create diagrams, journey maps, and wireframes to communicate value.
• Support AI/automation incubation and handoffs to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with UX, engineers, and analysts across the lifecycle.
• Contribute to user stories, acceptance criteria, and iterations.
• Stay current on legal tech trends and platform portfolios.
