Job summary

An international sports organization is seeking a Legal Advisor to support its operations in Miami. The role involves managing legal procedures before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, representing the organization at hearings, and providing critical departmental support. The ideal candidate should hold a law degree, possess substantial experience in international sports arbitration, and be fluent in English and either Spanish or French. Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Law or J.D. degree is required.
  • Master’s Degree in International Sports Law is an asset.
  • Admission to practice law (Bar) for at least 5 years is necessary.
  • Fluent in English and either Spanish or French.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in international sports arbitration is required.

Responsibilities
  • Handling procedures before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), including drafting legal briefs, letters and other communications.
  • Representing FIFA at CAS hearings.
  • Providing the Head and Director of Litigation with necessary support for the daily operations of the department.
  • Researching and analysing relevant developments in the arbitration scene and identifying and suggesting necessary amendments to current practices or to FIFA regulations.
  • Lecturing in courses and other education programmes organized by the FIFA Legal & Compliance Division.
