Job summary

Agile Decision Sciences seeks a Database Engineer to own the RSCCE data layer for the CECOM Army Software Innovation Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground. You will lead design, integrity, and performance of the database, collaborating with a Cyber Engineer and Front End GUI Engineer.

Responsibilities include creating scalable structures, automating interfaces, migrating data, and ensuring compliance with security requirements. Onsite, secret-level environment in a secure lab.

Qualifications

• 12+ years within the last 15 years designing, developing and testing applications, including GUI, services and database tiers.
• Experience formulating and analyzing software requirements and assisting system engineers with tradeoff analysis of technologies.
• Experience developing interfaces and test tools with emphasis on automation.
• Experience creating scalable, maintainable and extensible databases, and supporting testing and integration.
• Experience documenting software and database design and associated tools.
• Database admin/engineering on legacy platforms (DEC VAX/OpenVMS).
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database design.
• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent work experience and/or advanced degree.
• Active DoD security clearance at Secret level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and tune RSCCE databases for data accuracy, availability and performance.
• Formulate and analyze software/data requirements with users and government lead.
• Create scalable database structures for future needs.
• Assist system engineers in technology tradeoffs and modernization strategies.
• Develop interfaces between database, services and operator GUI with automated test tools.
• Analyze, test, patch and install database software; resolve defects and root causes.
• Plan data migration, backup and recovery and server replacement.
• Implement changes through RFCs and CAB processes; support testing/integration.
• Document designs and prepare technical deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership to RSCCE engineers.
