Base pay range

$190,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr

About the Role:

The Senior Leader of Billing Operations will oversee a team of billing supervisors and manage the end-to-end operations of a sophisticated client billing function. This role involves process improvement, strategic oversight, team training and development, and collaboration with partners and C-suite stakeholders.

You'll be expected to bring a fresh perspective to streamline processes, elevate performance metrics, and ensure best-in-class billing operations.

  • Lead and mentor a team of billing supervisors and staff across multiple offices.
  • Analyze workflows and metrics to improve performance and optimize billing operations.
  • Oversee training programs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and support technology upgrades and billing systems enhancements.
  • Act as the department's subject matter expert for all billing-related matters.
  • Collaborate with leadership on cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in regular performance reviews and team coaching sessions.

What You Bring:

  • 8+ years in legal billing, including direct experience managing managers.
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale billing teams in a law firm or professional services setting.
  • Expertise with Elite or Aderant and various eBilling systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across departments and with clients.

Preferred Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools and reporting dashboards is a plus.
