Job summary

You will shape architectures, drive modernization, mentor engineers, and apply DevSecOps and cloud-native patterns in secure, DoD-adjacent environments to deliver reliable software. This role requires clear technical leadership across distributed systems, APIs, databases, and back-end services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or graduate degree with 7+ years, or 13+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
• Proven technical leadership and ownership mindset.
• Strong software architecture and system design skills.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience (preferred).
• Strong Java and/or C++ development experience.
• Experience with Java Spring Boot and REST API development.
• Linux development environment and multi-threaded application experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical leadership across the engineering team
• Taking ownership of software products from concept through sustainment
• Designing and evolving software architectures and system designs
• Driving development across the full software lifecycle
• Mentoring junior engineers and elevating engineering standards
• Leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate design, coding, testing, and debugging
• Implementing and maintaining RESTful services and back-end components
• Developing multi-threaded applications in Java and/or C++
• Designing and integrating with relational or distributed databases
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins-based workflows
• Developing, packaging, and deploying containerized applications
• Supporting Kubernetes, cloud, and hybrid-cloud deployments in secure environments
