Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Seattle seeks a Senior Applied Scientist to advance lead scoring and deep learning modeling, delivering production-grade models for customer segmentation, adaptive recommendations, and prioritization.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to translate research into scalable solutions. We expect strong expertise in deep learning, representation learning, and multi-modal data, with a track record of deploying ML solutions at scale.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of building ML models for business applications.
  • PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent).
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.
  • Knowledge of deep learning, machine learning and statistics.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Real world experience in recommender systems, transformers, or multi-objective tasks.
  • Strong background in statistical analysis, experimental design, and SQL/Spark for big data processing.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy predictive lead scoring models to optimize acquisition, conversion, and retention.
  • Architect end-to-end ML pipelines for large-scale DL models, including data preprocessing and real-time inference.
  • Publish research, file patents, and stay ahead of industry trends in marketing science and propensity modeling.
  • Innovate in multi-modal modeling to enhance scoring accuracy across account and lead levels.
  • Conduct rigorous A/B testing, causal inference, and counterfactual analysis.
  • Collaborate with MLOps to streamline deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
  • Mentor junior scientists on ML methodology and production best practices.
  • Define offline and online evaluation frameworks; establish business-aligned success metrics.
