HUGE Home Pros in San Diego County is seeking a Senior or Lead Remodeling Carpenter to manage bathroom remodels from demolition through punch list. Core strength in bathrooms, tile, or finish carpentry is required, with ability to handle other residential projects in a team-based environment.
The role involves planning and sequencing work, communicating with clients, documenting progress, and guiding apprentices. Leads run projects, manage production, and protect budgets.
Senior / Lead Remodeling Carpenter – Bathroom & Tile Focus
Full-time W-2 | Monday–Friday, occasional weekends | San Diego County, in person
We’re hiring an experienced Senior or Lead Remodeling Carpenter who can take a bathroom remodel from demolition to final punch list with minimal oversight. Your core trade should be strong—ideally bathrooms, tile, or finish carpentry—and you should be able to contribute to other residential remodeling and repair work without ego. This is not a tile-only production position.
The right person produces high-quality work, plans and sequences their own projects, communicates well with clients, documents progress, and helps apprentices get better. Leads also run projects, manage production, and protect job budgets.
We place people by demonstrated skill—craftsmanship, versatility, production, judgment, communication, leadership, and dependability—not by years of experience or past titles.
How starting pay works: All new hires, including experienced Senior and Lead candidates, start at a Remodeling Carpenter level while we verify field skills, production, communication, and reliability on our jobs. This paid evaluation typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the projects we have available. Once you’ve shown the skills, we move you to the level and pay that match.
Remodeling Carpenter 1: $33–$37/hour — Completes skilled remodeling work but may still need direction with planning, sequencing, documentation, or unfamiliar scopes.
Remodeling Carpenter 2: $38–$42/hour — Completes multiple scopes efficiently, solves routine field problems, communicates clearly, and handles substantial portions of a project independently.
Senior Remodeling Carpenter: $42–$45/hour — Highly skilled across multiple scopes, consistently productive, strong with clients, dependable with planning, and completes projects with minimal oversight.
Lead Carpenter: $45–$47/hour — Proven ability to plan and run projects, lead team members, manage production, protect job budgets, communicate with clients, identify change orders, document progress, and close projects successfully.
Steady, full-time W-2 employment
Multiple ways to earn beyond your hourly rate, including a performance bonus program, a referral program, and job-based incentives
Paid sick leave
Clear job scopes and an organized project-management system
A defined advancement path to Lead Carpenter
Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel in a personal vehicle
Potential company vehicle once trust, safe driving, reliability, and job responsibilities are established
Support from apprentices, teammates, management, and licensed specialty trades when needed
You perform a core trade at a professional level and take shower prep, waterproofing, and finish details seriously
You can plan your own work and finish a project without being managed day to day
You’re willing to work outside your specialty and on smaller jobs without treating them as beneath you
You communicate problems before they become expensive surprises
You like helping an apprentice become more productive
You claim to be a lead but can’t independently plan and complete projects
You cut corners on prep, waterproofing, protection, or finish details
You blame scopes, materials, coworkers, or clients instead of communicating and solving problems
You perform additional work without documented company and client approval
You’re frequently late, unreliable, or hard to reach
