You will wash, deburr, polish, and steam-clean parts, lead by example in safety and quality, and assist with training and supporting department staff as directed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate deburring/polishing equipment and handle blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to Deburr/Polish team members.
  • Train and onboard new employees on processes, equipment and quality standards.
  • Monitor workflow to meet production schedules and priorities.
  • Be primary contact for questions on deburring, polishing, and workmanship.
  • Escalate quality or production issues to management as needed.
  • Maintain ISO/Medical Device quality compliance and pursue improvements.
  • Follow work instructions, clean parts, and deburr/polish to remove defects.
  • Identify and report surface flaws or dimensional inaccuracies.
  • Keep the work area clean and audit-ready, with proper documentation.

Job description

This position begins as a temporary assignment with the intent to convert to a regular full-time employee after approximately 90 days, based on performance, attendance, and business needs


JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for washing, deburring, polishing, and steam cleaning parts while serving as a technical resource for team members. Leads by example in safety, quality, productivity, and adherence to established processes. Assists with training and supporting department employees as directed by management.


Job Duties:


  • Provides day-to-day guidance and support to Deburr/Polish team members

  • Assists with training and onboarding new employees on department processes, equipment, and quality standards.

  • Monitors workflow and helps prioritize work to ensure production schedules are met.

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for questions related to deburring, polishing, cleaning, and workmanship standards.

  • Escalates quality, equipment, or production concerns to management as needed.

  • Assists in maintaining compliance with ISO and Medical Device quality requirements. Supports continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

  • Follows work instructions for specified parts.

  • Cleans parts before deburring or polishing.

  • Deburr/Polish parts to remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects.

  • Identify and report surface flaws, burrs or dimensional inaccuracies to Lead or management.

  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.

  • Completes and maintains paperwork with good documentation practices

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Attention to detail is essential for inspecting and identifying surface defects or flaws. Able to interpret drawings and work instructions.

  • Must be able to use all equipment and tools involved in the process of parts or able to be trained.

  • Must be available to work over 40 hours per week, including weekends, to meet increased workloads or deadlines as needed. Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical to ensure the daily output goals.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Ensure all parts are defect free and meet visual appearance standards.

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and “audit-ready” work area.

  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • No specific formal education is required.


INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:

Ability to work effectively with others, to achieve production goals and maintain quality standards. Ability to complete, clear, and accurate production records, labor entries, and quality data documents.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to notice when a process is likely to go wrong before the defect happens.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Comprehension of the English language necessary.


PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive work. Manuel dexterity is necessary to use polishing/deburring tools.
