Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Lead Maintenance Technician in East Peoria, IL. This hands-on role leads a team of technicians on a Friday-Monday AWS shift (four 10-hour nights).

You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, oversee preventive maintenance, and drive equipment reliability to minimize downtime and ensure a safe, productive work environment. The position requires strong leadership, advanced troubleshooting skills, and experience with CMMS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Experience using CMMS for work orders, tracking, and inventory.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of maintenance technicians during daily operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility systems.
• Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide leadership during critical repairs.
• Assist in maintaining parts and inventory for maintenance operations.
• Coach, train, and mentor technicians for performance.
• Review work orders and maintenance records for accuracy.
• Collaborate with operations to minimize production disruptions.
