Top Echelon Software LLC seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to establish its Phoenix office and lead the local electrical practice as it grows in the semiconductor market.

You will design power distribution for industrial facilities, mentor staff, and coordinate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers on integrated facility projects, while sealing drawings as Engineer of Record.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) with Arizona registration or ability to obtain.
• Experience leading electrical design for industrial, semiconductor, life sciences, or process-driven facilities.

Responsibilities

• Build the Phoenix office as the local point of contact for regional clients.
• Hire, mentor and develop engineers and designers as the office grows.
• Staff and deliver projects with collaboration across firm offices.
• Design power distribution for industrial/critical facilities (MV/LV, motor controls, lighting, standby gen, fire alarm).
• Lead electrical design from basis of design through construction documents, CA and startup.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical and controls engineers on integrated designs.
• Review and seal drawings as Engineer of Record.

About our client

Our client is a growing, employee-owned engineering firm expanding into the Phoenix market to support semiconductor work in the region, and they are looking for a senior electrical engineer to build the new office around. The firm designs electrical, mechanical, process, and control systems for semiconductor fabs, life sciences plants, research labs, and industrial manufacturing facilities. Their electrical work runs from site-wide medium-voltage upgrades through motor controls, lighting, fire alarm, and on-site generation, along with short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.

The role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be the firm's first engineer in Phoenix, establish its electrical practice in the market, and grow into leading the office. The firm develops its leaders from within, so the person who opens the office is the one expected to run it as it grows.

The position is based in the Phoenix, AZ area.

What you would be doing

Building the office

• Serve as the firm's local point of contact for clients in the region
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and designers as the office grows
• Work with the firm's other offices to staff and deliver projects

Engineering and project delivery

• Design power distribution for industrial and critical facilities, including low- and medium-voltage distribution, motor controls, lighting and lighting control, standby generation, and fire alarm
• Perform and review short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
• Lead electrical design from basis of design through construction documents, construction administration, and startup
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers on integrated facility designs
• Review and seal drawings and calculations as Engineer of Record
