Compass is seeking a Senior Lead Data Scientist in Washington, DC to lead large-scale cross-functional initiatives and drive strategic outcomes. You will mentor senior data scientists, orchestrate multi-team efforts, and shape data practices across the organization.

The role requires 8+ years in data science with deep XGBoost, DL, NLP, and strong Python/SQL skills; experience building and scaling MLOps pipelines is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field with 8+ years of professional data science experience.
• Deep expertise in XGBoost, deep learning, and NLP.
• Proven experience as a technical lead, defining and driving strategic initiatives for multiple teams.
• Mastery of advanced Python and SQL for large-scale data manipulation, analysis, and architectural design.
• Experience designing and implementing robust MLOps pipelines for large-scale model deployment and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of large, cross-functional initiatives where the problem and solution approach are not well-defined.
• Orchestrate efforts across multiple teams, managing dependencies and timelines.
• Foster a culture of ownership and translate research into scalable solutions.
• Define and roll out new processes, methodologies, and best practices across the Data organization.
• Mentor senior data scientists and advise executive leadership.
