Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a senior Information/Data Architect in Jersey City to lead logical data modelling efforts and mature the enterprise information models. You will collaborate with product owners, business SMEs, and architecture leaders to ensure standards are followed and to design scalable data solutions.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience across the SDLC, industry data models, and ability to translate complex requirements into robust data architectures.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computing Science or related field required.
  • 10+ years' experience as an Information/Data Architect.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering Logical Data Models.
  • Hands-on practical experience of Logical Data Modelling Tools.
  • Hands-on practical experience of Business & Data Analysis techniques.
  • CDMP Certification or related data management certification.
  • Exposure to Industry Data Models.
  • Experience in building Common Data Models.
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture and related data management areas.
  • Proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Understand functional and data requirements to build Logical Data Models used by technologists.
  • Expand and mature Business Information Models through analysis and modelling outcomes.
  • Ensure best practice data modelling standards across BIMs and LDMs.
  • Collaborate with teams to propose information architecture approaches for current/future needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve metadata and data lifecycle management.
  • Participate in information architecture governance.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on architecture recommendations.
  • Develop creative information architecture solutions and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring problems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions of data models with stakeholders to ensure compliance.
  • Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team.

Job description

Job responsibilities
  • Work with product owners and business SMEs to understand functional and data requirements for implementations in order to build Logical Data Models that reflect requirements and can be used by technologists to build solutions that are fit for purpose
  • Actively looks to expand and mature the content of the Business Information Models by leveraging analysis and modelling done on implementations
  • Works with the Information Architecture leadership to ensure best practice data modelling standards & guidelines are followed by BIMs and implementation LDMs
  • Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose information architecture approaches to meet current and future needs
  • Identify opportunities to intersect with other Data Management functions to improve meta data, consistency of definitions & end to end data lifecycle management
  • Participates in information architecture governance bodies
  • Evaluates information architecture recommendations and provides feedback to stakeholders
  • Executes creative information architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues
  • Facilitates evaluation sessions of data models with relevant stakeholders to drive positive outcomes through probing of functional & data requirements, definitions and validation rules
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Degree in Computing Science or related degree or relevant related experience
  • 10 + years' experience as an Information or Data Architect
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering Logical Data Models
  • Hands-on practical experience of Logical Data Modelling Tools
  • Hands-on practical experience of Business & Data Analysis techniques
  • CDMP Certification (Certified Data Management Professional) or any other data management related certification
  • Exposure to Industry Data Models
  • Experience in building Common Data Model's
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture & Exposure to other Data management functional area
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more software, application, and architecture disciplines
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best information architecture solutions for the future state architecture
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Working knowledge of MagicDraw and Erwin or other data modelling tools
  • Knowledge of UML & ER modelling methods
  • Knowledge of Wholesale Payments business
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design
