Job summary

TGK Automotive Specialists is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician in Saint Louis Park, MN. The role focuses on diagnosing vehicles, performing complex repairs, and mentoring junior technicians in a fast-paced shop environment.

You will work with MPI/Repair Orders, explain issues to customers, and ensure compliance with safety procedures and Sun Auto’s policies. Strong diagnostic skills and ASE certifications are valued for this position.

Qualifications

• Must have automotive technician experience.
• ASE certifications accepted in lieu of experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work 5 days per week, weekends included.
• Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles according to certification/experience.
• Perform work as outlined on MPI/Repair Order with accuracy.
• Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and store staff.
• Recommend services to keep vehicles running; document recommendations.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns to supervisor.
• Adhere to company core values and policies.
