Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial Investment Banking, Digital and Platform Services team. The role is integral to developing high-quality architecture solutions across software applications and platform products, driving significant business impact and shaping target-state architecture through expertise in multiple domains.
You will support Global Banking businesses and operations powered by technology platforms that deliver document management, integration, workflow solutions, and AI/GenAI capabilities. Your passion for technology and innovation will help shape the future of global digital commerce, bringing critical leadership and strategic thinking to cross‑functional projects and teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Represent a product family in technical governance bodies and propose improvements to architecture governance practices.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate architecture analysis and decisioning, with human‑in‑the‑loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
- Guide evaluation of current and new technologies using existing standards and frameworks, influencing peers and decision‑makers to adopt leading‑edge solutions where appropriate.
- Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
- Develop secure and high‑quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
- Serve as a function‑wide subject‑matter expert and contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firm‑wide SDLC frameworks and practices.
- Establish reuse‑first, AI‑enabled engineering patterns and governance across SDLC/toolchain practices, ensuring traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
- Define current, proximal, and target‑state architecture for strategic applications, optimizing business value from both line of business and global technology products.
- Lead initiatives to integrate GenAI technologies into existing systems to enhance decision‑making, automation, and customer experience.
- Build new innovative solutions using modern technology and cloud‑native design principles that solve business problems and drive growth.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification in architecture concepts and 5+ years of proven experience.
- Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced skills in one or more programming languages with deep expertise in software architecture, applications, and technical processes within at least one technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, mobile).
- Demonstrated experience applying enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities within architecture and engineering workflows, with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate AI‑enabled capabilities into enterprise‑grade architectures while meeting resiliency, security, and auditability requirements.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight.
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for future‑state architecture.
- Strong judgment and communication skills to influence technical direction across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to architect and build high‑volume, microservices, domain‑driven, event‑driven, and cloud‑native systems.
- Hands‑on experience with one of the public clouds: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
- Hands‑on experience with GenAI and Agentic AI.
- Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes technologies.
- Knowledge in at least one area of technical architecture.
- Strategic thinking and passion for business strategy and processes.
- Experience in risk and risk‑control compliance.
- Ability to collaborate in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
