Job summary

Sammons Financial Group is seeking a senior investment professional to oversee and manage its alternative investments portfolio in partnership with the VP, Alternative Investments. You will lead sourcing, due diligence, underwriting, and portfolio construction analysis across private equity, private credit, real estate, and other strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field preferred.
• 10+ years' institutional investment/alternative investments experience required.
• Significant experience conducting manager due diligence and underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, hedge funds and related strategies.
• Experience presenting investment recommendations to senior leadership and governance forums.
• Familiarity with insurance investment frameworks preferred.
• Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, underwriting, and selection of alternative investment managers and opportunities.
• Develop investment recommendations across primary fund commitments, secondaries, co-investments, and other structures.
• Maintain relationships with general partners, consultants, placement agents, and industry participants.
• Oversee manager relationships, including performance evaluation, governance review, and risk assessment.
• Evaluate portfolio construction, liquidity, diversification, and risk-return across the alternatives portfolio.
• Lead due diligence processes in partnership with stakeholders.
• Review and negotiate partnership agreements, side letters, fund economics, governance provisions, and docs.
• Participate in LPAC activities and governance matters for investments.
• Analyze portfolio performance and risk exposures; present to leadership.
• Forecast capital calls, distributions, NAV growth, and returns.
