Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Designer to lead automation and material handling equipment initiatives for Last Mile transportation designs. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality, cost-effective solutions for delivery stations worldwide and mentor engineers on large-scale projects.

The role involves frequent collaboration, travel up to 40%, and delivering technically compelling designs that improve system performance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or foreign equivalent.
• Experience with design & innovation and research & development.
• Experience in management of engineering design projects.
• Experience using MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design efforts to develop optimal automation/MHE equipment design solutions for the last mile network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors and stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects, retrofits and building designs.
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.
• Ability to travel up to 40% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.
