Job summary

Veolia Group seeks a Senior Laboratory Technician to perform tests, analyses, and support lab activities across water-focused operations. You will apply diverse techniques, maintain equipment, and manage materials in a fast-paced environment.

You will ensure adherence to QMS and EHS standards while collaborating with technical leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate results and insights. A strong safety mindset and precise documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, analytical testing equipment
• Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas
• Experience with LabWare LIMS or similar
• Strong written and oral communication
• Ability to work in high-volume lab environments

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing or support per SOPs
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Manage inventory for required operating materials
• Ensure compliance with QMS requirements
• Ensure compliance with EHS management system requirements
• Effectively manage tasks to meet due dates
• Provide support for other laboratory areas
• Work under direction of technical leaders

Job Description

Job Summary
The Senior Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or provides support for laboratory activities. Skilled in multiple laboratory techniques or testing areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Manage inventory for required operating materials
• Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
• Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements
• Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates
• Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned
• Works under the direction of technical leaders

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required

• Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts, and analytical testing equipment
• Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas
• Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Skills in implementing process improvements
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment

Preferred

• Developing skills in two or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, microscopy, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography, or chromatography

Education & Experience:

Required

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related scientific field
• 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques

Preferred

• B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
• 5+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques
• Experience using a LabWare or similar LIMS
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified organization
