Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA seeks a Senior Laboratory Operations Specialist to enhance lab operations and LIS services, analyze data for business decisions, and bridge communication between Laboratory Operations, IT, and stakeholders. You will train new specialists, conduct requirements workshops, and translate customer needs into actionable specifications while ensuring adherence to standards and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of customers and end users.
• Maintain knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for biohazards and chemicals, as well as quality control procedures and regulations.
• Understand laboratory operations protocols and execute responsibilities with strong attention to detail.
• Drive results through service, quality, and continuous improvement by ensuring procedures and processes are in place that lead to the delivery of quality results and continually reassessing their effectiveness.
• Train incoming Laboratory Operations Specialists by following established SOPs and operational procedures.
• Conduct interviews to gather customer requirements through workshops, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
• Identify and establish the scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
• Work with stakeholders and project teams to prioritize collected requirements.
• Research, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
• Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
• Develops and utilizes standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
• Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers and project teams.
• Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or project teams.
• Develops and conducts peer reviews of business requirements to ensure required specifications are interpreted correctly.
• Assists with the interpretation of customer requirements into feasible options and communicates these back to business stakeholders.
• Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle and enforces or redefines requirements as necessary.
• Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications to business requirements verbally or through written documentation to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure issues and solutions are understood.

Position Summary
