Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Hospital Orange in Orange, CA seeks a Senior Laboratory Assistant I for per-diem, 8-hour day shifts.

Under supervision, you will perform capillary and venous specimen collections and ensure timely receipt, centrifugation and delivery of specimens to departments and labs. The role requires California Phlebotomy Technician I or II license on hire and 1 year of phlebotomy or lab support experience; preferred is 2 years in blood collections and processing.

Qualifications

• California Phlebotomy Technician license upon hire.
• 1 year of experience as phlebotomist or lab assistant performing blood collection, processing, centrifuging, or sending out specimens.

Responsibilities

• Perform capillary and venous specimen collections for Inpatient and Outpatient settings.
• Ensure accurate receipt, centrifugation and delivery of laboratory specimens to appropriate departments and reference labs.

Under the direction and supervision of the Division Supervisor, the Sr. Lab Assistant I performs capillary and venous specimen collections for St. Joseph hospital Inpatient and Outpatient. Staff ensures accurate and timely receipt, centrifugation and delivery of laboratory specimens to appropriate departments and reference labs.

Required qualifications:
