Job summary

Holland Sharpe in Clarksville, TN is seeking a Lead Lab Technician to join our experienced team. This role offers a 12.5-hour rotating shift (days 6AM–6PM, nights 6PM–6AM) with initial training on days.

You will set up and calibrate lab equipment, test materials, and perform physical, chemical and instrumental analyses, including titration and pipetting. Strong math, reporting, and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to generate daily reports.
• Experience in quality control and/or SPC a plus.
• Must be available for a 12.5-hour rotating shift (Days: 6AM–6PM | Nights: 6PM–6AM); initial training on days.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Test raw materials, chemical solutions, and manufactured steel cord products for conformity to specifications.
• Perform physical, chemical, and instrumental analysis daily, including titration and pipetting.
• Test solutions used in plating and wire drawing processes.
• Identify and quantify impurities and elemental content in steel cord samples.
• Record test results on standardized forms and prepare written test reports, graphs, and charts.
• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
