Job summary

The Columbia Institute for Cell Engineering and Therapy (CICET) is seeking a Senior Technician to support laboratory operations and shared infrastructure across its research labs. The Senior Technician will serve within the CICET Operations Team, coordinating equipment maintenance, service contracts, facilities requests, and safety-related operational activities.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 1.5 years of related experience.
• Experience in an academic or biomedical lab preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of shared laboratory spaces and environmental systems.
• Track service contracts and preventive maintenance for shared equipment.
• Coordinate purchasing, inventory, and vendor coordination.
• Provide user training and support for CICET facilities and equipment.
• Ensure safety compliance and onboarding of new personnel.
