Job summary

SBH Fashion seeks a Senior Kids Activewear Designer to lead design and development for boys’ and girls’ activewear for Walmart. You will translate trends into mass-market collections, mentor juniors, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver brand-right products.

You will drive concepting, CADs, fabrics, color, and fits while balancing creativity, cost, and retailer requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related discipline.
• 7–10+ years of apparel design experience, ideally within kids’ activewear or sportswear.
• Experience designing both boys’ and girls’ product.
• Strong knowledge of the Walmart customer, mass-market retail, and value-driven product development.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; PLM systems experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric, fit, color, print, and graphic development.
• Commercial sensibility balancing creativity, cost, and retailer requirements.
• Excellent presentation, communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design seasonal boys’ and girls’ activewear collections for Walmart.
• Research trends, color, fabric, graphics, silhouettes, and competitive market activity.
• Translate emerging trends into commercial, brand-right products at accessible price points.
• Create concept boards, color palettes, CADs, technical sketches, prints, and graphics.
• Build cohesive assortments across tops, bottoms, sets, and related activewear categories.
• Partner with merchandising, product development, sourcing, and production teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain accurate design packages, including construction details, fabric direction, colorways, and artwork.
• Participate in fittings and provide clear comments to ensure design intent, fit, quality, and cost objectives are achieved.
• Present seasonal concepts and product assortments to internal leadership and retail partners.
• Manage multiple seasons and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Mentor junior designers and provide creative direction as needed.
