Position Summary

The Senior Key Account Manager is responsible for contributing to the development, management and growth of Target for PHV including Nature Made, MegaFood and PHV women’s health brands. This role assists in developing and executing strategic revenue driving activities. Senior Key Account Manager reports to Director, Sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and growing all Pharmavite business at Target and Target.com, with a key focus on PHV’s emerging brands in Women’s Health.
  • Ownership of managing and developing key PHV emerging brands in Women’s health, including developing and driving short term and long-term strategies for profitable sales growth in Women’s Health.
  • Driving increased distribution YOY.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for market share growth.
  • Joint business planning.
  • Promotional planning and trade forecasting.
  • Display planning and YOY display award growth.
  • Digital strategy including digital sales, penetration, promotion.
  • Co-responsibility for AOP planning and presentation.
  • Co-responsibility for Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • For all brands, manages promotion forecasting and stays within all budget limits including co-op, promo allowances, and other retailer funding.
  • For all brands, responsible for managing PHV’s omnichannel business activity on Target.com.
  • For all brands, contributes to PHV team JBP planning, AOP planning, and quarterly business reviews.
  • For all brands, monitors and identifies competitive activity within channel.
  • For all brands, effectively communicates and partners with various Pharmavite teams outside of Sales organization.
  • For all brands, review and interpret sales reports, both internal and external POS tools.
  • Professionally manages personnel and brokers effectively to implement the business plan.
  • Responsible for cultivating relationships with Target on the buyer and merchandise manager level and on higher levels whenever possible.
  • Complies with all Pharmavite policies and procedures.
  • Attends industry events and tradeshows that enhance knowledge and provide networking opportunities.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate has a background (5-10 years) in account management with either emerging brands or established CPG; or has a background in buying, merchandising or planning at Target in Health categories for 5+ years. Candidate must have experience calling on Target or directly working with Target.

The ideal candidate has strong communication and presentation skills, business acumen to analyze sales, financial data and market trends to make informed decisions, and strong aptitude for building and maintaining relationships internally and with Target.

  • Proficient in negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, supply chain and others.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities – identifies issues and develops creative solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the CPG industry, products and competitors within VMS.
  • Experience working on emerging and established brands at Target.
  • Motivated to achieve sales targets and exceed performance expectation.
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS
  • Competent knowledge in the CPG industry and FDMC channel.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and in presentations.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • “Team first” mentality: take on other assignments as needed to support the team.
  • Knowledge of online retailer and marketplaces; understanding of ecommerce and digital selling channels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Circana.
  • Understanding of the P&L and selling strategy to deliver on P&L objectives.
CAPABILITIES & SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Requires 5-10 years account management sales experience with either a manufacturer, broker or retailer (purchasing/category buyer) with an emphasis in the HBC (Health & Beauty Care) category preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Business or Marketing degree is preferred.

SALARY RANGE

National Target Base Pay Range: $135,000 - $229,000. The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and New York metro the Target Base Pay Range is $150,000 - $262,000, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas.

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills.
