Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of professional experience in distributed systems, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering
• 5+ years hands-on Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform experience
• Deep knowledge of Kafka internals (partitions, replication, ISR, consumer groups) and performance tuning
• Experience implementing enterprise security (SASL, SSL/mTLS, ACLs, RBAC)
• Hands-on with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, and real-time streaming architectures
• IaC experience with Terraform/Ansible and cloud-native tooling

Aufgaben

• Architect, deploy, and manage Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform environments for enterprise-scale streaming
• Design cluster topology, deployment, and performance optimization for high-throughput workloads
• Implement enterprise security and access controls across platforms
• Design and manage Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Kafka Streams, and ksqlDB pipelines
• Develop and maintain IaC for Kafka infrastructure using Terraform/Ansible
• Design HA, DR, backup, and cross-region replication strategies
• Build monitoring/observability using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and ELK
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive long-term platform improvements
• Support Kafka deployments on Kubernetes using Strimzi or Confluent Operator and managed services
• Collaborate with developers/architects to establish event-driven standards and governance
• Mentor engineers on Kafka development and operations
