Job summary

Northwood Space in the United States seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer (RF) to own Ka-band high power amplifier design for Prism, a 2.4-meter parabolic antenna used for high-throughput satellite links. You will shepherd amplifiers from architecture through prototype, characterization, and production with engineers across antenna, mechanical, thermal, and test disciplines.

The role requires hands-on RF hardware work at microwave/millimeter-wave frequencies, strong experience with RF/EM tools,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
5+ years of RF hardware design experience.
Hands-on experience with Ka-band or higher RF hardware design.

Responsibilities

Design Ka-band high power amplifiers for Prism from architecture to hardware bring-up.
Develop power combining approaches while preserving efficiency and linearity.
Build electromagnetic and circuit models to evaluate performance before hardware.
Design biasing, power conditioning, protection, monitoring and digital interfaces.
Own thermal and packaging considerations for high-dissipation RF hardware.
Characterize performance and troubleshoot the transmit chain.
Drive reliability testing and production handover, including test plans.
